About this site
The name 'The Help Less Desk' is intended to be a pun as my goal here is to enable others to need 'less help' and empower the reader to grow their skillsets as I have done through my homelab'ing and technical experience.
This site is what I am calling a fount of 'blogumentation' authored by me, Taylor Hendricks. I hope to include tips and code snippets on my many adventures in managing my homelab and scripting projects paired with some friendly professional advice along the way.
If anything here helps you or you're curious about something feel free to reach out to me on any of the socials above and share.
About Me
I am in IT Engineer managing critical infrastructure assets for a Global Software Company in the NorthEast Ohio area. I started my career almost 10 years ago taking phone calls as a Tier 1 Help Desk Analyst, mostly password resets and the classic IT Crowd Scenario...

Through this I found I had an appetite for problem solving and the satisfaction it brings to help others with something that comes relatively naturally to me. I've always had an interest in understanding how things tick; taking old printers and electronics apart as a child, examining a files contents and observing what happens (breaks 🤣) when I make a change, memory hacking old flash games with Cheat Engine and learning about hexadecimal.
I now spend a lot of my free time tinkering with my homelab, pondering my next Python or PowerShell project, hanging out with my family and pets, or playing video games.
All of this and more I hope to capture and share here to inspire and aid any other intrepid IT professionals/hobbyists.
